2016 Rio Olympic Games in Brazil Aug 05-21,2016 - USA's Venus Williams misses out on becoming first tennis player to win five Olympic golds after settling for silver in mixed doubles final






Venus Williams missed out on becoming the first tennis player to win five Olympic gold medals when she and partner Rajeev Ram were defeated in an all-American mixed doubles final in Rio on Sunday Aug 14,2016

Venus Williams, who teamed up with Ram at short notice for the tournament, looked on course for a fifth gold when taking the first set.

But Venus Williams had to settle for silver medal after fellow Americans Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Jack Sock downed the 36-year-old and Ram 6-7 (3/7), 6-1, 10-7 to grab the gold medal

Note
Venus Williams(USA)won singles gold at Sydney in 2000 and doubles titles with sister Serena in 2000, 2008 and 2012.
