Renault Kwid SCe With 1.0-Litre Engine Launched in India at Rs 3.82 Lakhs

What the Renault Kwid has done in the Indian entry-level hatchback segment has surpassed the expectations of almost everyone.

That car sported big, brawny looks and yet managed to have a very attractive price tag and it was because of this that the car became so popular.

Now, the company has come out with a bigger, more powerful variant of the Renault Kwid named 'SCe' which gets a new 1.0-litre engine and will start at a price tag of Rs 3.82 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The result of fitting a bigger engine is a bump in power delivery to 68 PS and 91 Nm of torque.
According to the company, the highest demand in the Kwid's variants have been received by the top end offering.

This is why the SCe model will only be available in the top two variants – RXT and RXT(O), which means it will have all the additional extras that you get in the top end 800cc Kwid.

The highest variant with the optional package will cost Rs 3.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The exteriors on the new version of the Kwid remain identical except a grey finish ORVM and SCe vinyl on the door cladding.

The interiors too remain identical to the current generation Kwid.

For improved safety, the car will now have seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters.

The 1.0L SCe will mainly compete with the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10.
