Former South African cricketer Sunnette Viljoen created history by winning silver medal in the Women's Javelin Thow



Former South African cricketer Sunnette Viljoen created history at  Rio 2016 by winning a silver medal at Rio Olympics in the Women’s  Javelin Throw event.

South Africa's Sunnette Viljoen, who played one Test and 17 ODIs for the Proteas’ women’s team, finished second behind Croatian Sara Kolak, with her best throw of 64.92m behind Kolak's 66.18m.

South Africa's Sunnette Viljoen’s only Test outing came against India in March 2002, where she scored 17 and 71 in two innings. After making ODI debut in 2000, she called times two two years later with 198 runs and five wickets to her name.
