Facebook's Live Video Interactive Map Shows What Users Are Streaming Around the World Thursday May 19,2016

 

Facebook on Thursday May 19,2016 rolled out the new "Live Video" feature globally, thanks to its interactive map that gives you a window into what's happening in the world right now from friends or on topics you're interested in.

 

"Facebook has been pushing Live Video aggressively lately. At its F8 developer conference recently, it announced an open API so developers could add the feature to their cameras, " technology website engadget.com reported.

 

"Over the last three months, Facebook 'Live' video has become more and more popular and more and more people and Pages are creating and watching live videos," the Facebook officials posted.

 

If you're looking for a stream from a random stranger you can either go on one of the highly-ranked clips on the left side of the page, or click on one of the blue dots from everyone else on the digital globe.

To access the interactive map, a new "Live Video" app is available on the left navigation bar in your Facebook timeline.

In addition to showing where a stream has come from, when you click on a video, it also shows where it's being viewed.

Before Thursday May 19,2016, the only way to know if an account is live streaming was by following that person or brand and waiting for a notification to pop up in your timeline.
