TMC won 211 seats; Congress 44 ;Left only 33 and BJP 06 seats out of 294 seats
In its worst performance since 1977 - when the Left came to power in West
Bengal to rule for the next three decades - the CPM's worst nightmare
has come true. Reduced to only 33 seats in the 294-member assembly,
behind the Congress with 44, even its face in this election, Surjya
Kanta Mishra, lost his seat, Narayangarh.
This means that the Leader of Opposition will be from the Congress.
