Novak Djokovic surpasses Roger Federer as all-time prize money earner Sunday April 03,2016

World number  1 Novak Djokovic has surpassed Roger Federer as the highest prize money earner of all-time in the men`s tennis after winning the Miami Open for a consecutive third time.

Novak Djokovic`s 6-3, 6-3 win over Japanese sixth seed Kei Nishikori in the Miami Open final on Sunday April 03,2016 pushed his on-court earnings to 98.2 million dollars.

Meanwhile, 17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer has won 97.9 million dollars as prize money.

Novak Djokovic also matched former world number one Andre Agassi`s Miami record total of six crowns on the Florida hardcourt, news.com.au reported.

With the win, Novak Djokovic completed the US double of Miami and Indian Wells for the third year in a row and fourth time overall.

Novak Djokovic’s win is his sixth career victory in Miami to equal Andre Agassi’s record saw him pocket $1.028 million (902,000 euros), taking him past Federer as the all-time ATP earnings leader with $98,199,548 to the Swiss great’s $97,855,881

By defeating Kei Nishikori 6-3 6-3 in Sunday night's Miami Open final the world number one overtook Roger Federer in official career prize money by reaching a total of $98.2m.
