Nitish Kumar elected JD(U) chief repacing Sharad Yadav Sunday April 10,2016

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar pitched in for a key role in national politics as the Janata Dal (United) national executive on Sunday April 10,2016 unanimously elected him as the party president replacing Sharad Yadav, who had been at the helm since 2006.

The new responsibility will enable Nitish to lead the JD(U) from the front and expand it by negotiating mergers with other parties on the one hand and reaching out to different sections of people all over the country on the other

This will ensure that he remains in the focus, both in the public and the media.

If all goes well, he may well be in a position to challenge Modi by the 2019 Lok Sabha Polls.
