2016 West Bengal Assembly Elections Phase 1A for 18 seats - West Bengal records 80% voter turnout Monday April 04,2016

The 18 constituencies that goe to polls today are -
Nayagram, Gopiballavpur, Jhargram, Salboni, Medinipur, Binpur, Bandwan, Balarampur, Baghmundi, Joypur, Purulia, Manbazar, Kashipur, Para, Raghunathpur, Ranibandh, Raipur, Taldangra.


West Bengal recorded 80% voter turnout in the Phase 1A for 18 seats of 2016 WB Assembly elections, which the Election Commission termed as "by and large peaceful", with no reports of violence-related death or injury

Though high, the voting percentage was lower than that recorded in the 2011 Assembly polls in the same seats.


In the 2011 Assembly Elections, the voter turnout in West Bengal was 83.72% and  in the  2014 Lok Sabha Elections, the figures in these constituencies were 83.39%
