 Injured Glenn Maxwell  ruled out of Tuesday’s first Twenty20 cricket 

Australia allrounder Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of Tuesday January 26,2016’s first Twenty20 cricket international against India with a hamstring injury.

Maxwell has returned to his home in Melbourne to recover from the injury while the remainder of the Australia squad assembles in Adelaide for the first match of the three match series.

Acting coach Michael Di Venuto, who has taken over from Darren Lehmann who is in hospital receiving treatment for deep vein thrombosis, said Maxwell “has still got a little slight hamstring niggle so he will spend a few days in Melbourne at home and join the squad when we get there in a couple of days.”

India spoiled the hosts' Australia Day party but celebrated the 67th Republic Day in style with a dominating 37-run win over Australia to claim the first T20 international in Adelaide on Tuesday.

 

A charged-up Virat Kohli once again hammered the Australia attack, this time scoring 90 not out to take India to 188/3 in 20 Overs

 

Virat Kohli now has 10 Fifty plus scores in T20 International.

Rohit Sharma and Yuvraj Singh each have 8 such scores

Virat Kohli's 90 not out in this match is the joint second-highest  individual score in T20Is in Australia. Damien Martyn's 96 against South Africa at the Gabba in 2005-06 is the highest. David Warner has also made 90* against Sri Lanka at the SCG in 2012-13.

Australia's middle order collapsed in stunning fashion after skipper Aaron Finch (44 off 33 balls) and Steven Smith (21 off 14 balls) left in quick succession because of  MS Dhoni's famous choke-with-spin T20 strategy, where Ravindra Jadeja (2 for 21) and R Ashwin (2 for 28) played the lead roles, but the pick of the bowlers was debutant Jasprit Bumrah, who ended with figures of 3/23 in 3.3 Overs

Among the wicket-takers was also debutant Hardik Pandya but he gave away 37 runs for two wickets in his three overs
