Following the hike in Dearness Allowance for Central government
employees, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Friday Oct 16,2015 announced a six % hike in DA for government employees with effect from July 01,2015
In a statement, Ms. Jayalalithaa said over 18 lakh
employees would be benefited by the hike. The increase would cost Rs
1,501.24 crore to the State exchequer.
Each employee
would get between Rs. 366 and Rs. 4,620 per month in their salaries.
Pensioners and family pensioners would get between Rs. 183 and Rs 2,310
per month.
Government employees, including those
working in local bodies, government-aided educational institutions,
teachers, village assistants in revenue department, anganwadi and
noon-meal employees, panchayat assistants and clerks would be benefited
by the hike. “I believe that with this increase in DA, government
employees will be enthused to work with more vigour,” the Chief Minister
said.
