2015 Canadian Federal Election Monday October 19, 2015

 
The 2015 Canadian federal election (formally the 42nd Canadian general election) is scheduled to be held on Monday October 19, 2015 to elect 338 Members of the House of Commons of Canada

170 seats needed for a majority

In the 2011 election,the incumbent Conservative Government headed by Stephrn Harper won by getting 167 seats while the New Democratic Party(NDP) became Official Opposition getting 102 seats and the Liberal Party became the third party which won 34 seats. The  Bloc Quebecois won 4 seats and the Green Party won one seat.
 

As a result of the 2012 Federal Eletoral REdistribution,the number of electoral districts was increased to 338, with additional seats based on population assigned to Alberta (6), British Columbia (6), Ontario (15), and Quebec (3)
