Chennai Metro Water launches '' Dial for Water Scheme'

In the midst of a growing water crisis, the government is trying to reach out to Chennaites with promise of water supply through Metro water`s `Dial for Water` scheme through which the city gets less than 10% of its daily water supply

Water in tankers of 9,000 and 6,000-litre capacity will be delivered for Rs 600 and Rs 400 respectively within an 8km radius. In comparison, private water tankers charge three times more, Rs 1,200 to Rs1, 500 for 6,000 and 9,000-litre loads respectively.
