Sepp Blatter steps aside as FIFA president Tuesday June 02,2015

 
FIFA President Sepp Blatter has resigned from his post, just days after being re-elected for a fifth term.

His resignation comes as football's world governing body has been embroiled in a corruption scandal, which included several high-profile arrests and allegations of bribery.

Only four short days before,Sepp Blatter was giving his acceptance speech after winning his fifth term, chest out and nearly doing the jig while blathering on about being the captain of FIFA's ship.

Yet something happened between Friday May 29,2015 and Tuesday June 02,2015, when he resigned.

Sepp Blatter told that although he had been re-elected, his election did not seem to be supported by all.
He called for an extraordinary Fifa congress "as soon as possible" to elect a new president.
