India cruise to 7-Wicket victory despite rain

Chasing a target of 273 in 50 overs, India were cruising along at 100 for one in 16.4 overs when the heavens opened up, leading to a nearly two-hour delay.

This led to a revised target of 150 in 26 overs courtesy D/L method, which India achieved with seven balls to spare.

Ajinka Rahane anchored his innings to perfection in the company of comeback man Robin Uthappa and guided India to a comfortable seven-wicket victory in a rain-truncated first ODI against Bangladesh in Mirpur on Sunday.

Robin Uthappa playing his first ODI in six years, slammed his sixth half century on his return to the national fold. The exciting right hander, who found his way back in to team after finishing as the highest scorer of the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL), hammered three boundaries and three sixes each in his 44-ball knock.

Parvez Rasool created history by becoming the first cricketer from the state of Jammu and Kashmir to represent India in a One-Day International. The off-spinner achieved this feat when he took the field against Bangladesh on Sunday.
Parvez Rasool was also the first cricketer from the state to get an IPL contract when he signed up for the Pune Warriors India in 2013. He turned up for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the recent 2014 IPL season 7
He picked up 2 for 60 from his 10 overs on his international debut. Although he proved to be expensive, he was able to pick up two important wickets.
Parvez Rasool, the 25-year-old, who hails from the town of Bij Behara in the southern Kashmir valley district of Anantnag, was earlier part of the Indian squad on the 2013 tour of Zimbabwe but was not given a chance to play
