2014 IPL Season 7 Match 3 Chennai Super Kings Vs Kings XI Punjab Friday April 18,2014

Distracted by off-field controversies, two-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) would be desperate to start the 2014 IPL Season 7 on a positive note when they take on a revamped Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Friday April 18,2014 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

In  2014 IPL Season 7  CSK would be without some of their most reliable stars including Michael Hussey and Albie Morkel, after losing them in the players' auction. But with replacements like the dangerous Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith, along with Faf du Plessis, who they brought back at the auction, CSK remain one of the strongest squads among the 8 teams.

CSK winning the toss elected to bat and scored 205/4 in 20 Overs with openers Brendon McCullum 67(45 Balls with 4x4 and 6x5)and Dwayne Smith 66(43 Balls with 4x6 and 6x3)put on 123-Runs Partnership for the 1st wicket
A blazing 115-run stand between Glenn Maxwell and David Miller helped Kings XI Punjab pull off a sensational 6-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings(CSK) in their opening Indian Premier League match in Abu Dhabi on Friday April 18,2014

Glenn Maxwell hammered 95 (43 balls  with 4x15 and 6x2)while Miller made an unbeaten 54*(37 balls with 4x3 and 6x3)to propel their team past Super Kings' imposing 205 for four with seven balls to spare at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium,Abu Dhabi

Earlier Virender Sehwag (19 off 10 Balls) and Cheteshwar Pujara (13 off 10 Balls) started Punjab's chase aggressively before departing in quick succession. Sehwag was bowled by Nehra while attempting a slog.
Off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin then trapped Pujara and Akshar Patel (2) lbw leaving Punjab tottering at 53 for two in the 6th over.
