People who are planning to buy a Maruti Suzuki Celerio, might have to wait for six months to get their car delivered after booking, if the booked version is Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) gearbox equipped.
Launched in February 2014 the Celerio has been receiving around 1000 bookings a day across the nation, of which more than half are for the AMT version.
Since Maruti Suzuki India is importing AMT box from Magneto Marelli, increasing the production of the AMT powered versions to cut down the demand-and-supply gap is a tough job. So, the waiting period might be increased further. The demand for the AMT is more in metropolitan cities, where the waiting period for the car has gone to six months.
