• Unmukt Chand became the second Delhi player after Gautam Gambhir (against Chennai at Kingsmead, Durban on April 23, 2009) to be dismissed off the first ball of an IPL match(bowled by Brett Lee)Overall, there are 13 instances of a player being dismissed off the first ball of an IPL match

• For the second time in IPL history, the inaugural game has witnessed a first-ball dismissal.  In the 2010 edition, Manoj Tiwary (Kolkata) had provided the first instance - the bowler being Chaminda Vaas (Deccan) at Dr.D.Y.Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai on March 12,2010

• KKR  have won three successive games against Delhi in the IPL for the first time - by 6 wickets on May 7, 2012; by 18 runs on May 22, 2012 and by six wickets on April 3, 2013(KKR have won six and lost four out of ten contested against Delhi in the IPL)
