Shashank Manohar Unanimously Elected BCCI President as the BCCI President Sunday Oct 04,2015

Vidarbha-based lawyer Shashank Manohar was on Sunday Oct 04,2015 elected as the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) 30th president at the board's Special General Meeting (SGM) following a consensus over his name, following the unfortunate demise of the former BCCI chief Jagmohan Dalmiya.

Here is the list of reforms suggested by Manohar as part of a clean-up operation to restore the Cricket Board's battered image:
1) Appointing Ombudsman to address all the conflict of interests issues pertaining to players, administrators
2) Attach a government investigative agency to look after on-field corruption issues as BCCI doesn't have investigative powers.
3) Appoint independent auditor to check how the state associations are spending the BCCI's annual grants which range from 25-35 crore per association.
4) Upload the BCCI constitution, balance sheet (already annual reports are uploaded), expenditures of over and above Rs 25 lakh on board's website.
5) Reviving National Cricket Academy as a Centre of Excellence, which will provide a supply line for Indian cricket.
6) Getting women's cricketers under BCCI's Central Contract (matter already approved by Finance Committee).
7) All the old records and documents will be available at the BCCI Headquarters in Mumbai for the members to have a look whenever they feel necessary.
8) Smooth organisation of ICC World T20 to be held in India next year.
9) To abstain from casting chairman's vote during any BCCI elections till constitution is amended.
10) Not to use president's discretionary powers to resolve any dispute as majority's view will be taken into account
