Deontay Wilder produced a composed and mature performance against Bermane Stiverne in
Las Vegas to win the WBC title and add substance to a career hitherto
laden with hype.
Deontay Wilder,
who had knocked out each of his previous 32 opponents before the fifth
round, twice had Stiverne in trouble but was unable to find the finish
while the Haitian struggled to stamp his authority on the fight.
The judges were all in agreement, scoring the fight 118-109, 119-108 and 120-107 to Deontay Wilder
