2014 CL T20 Final KKR Vs CSK Bangalore Saturday Oct 04,2014

Chennai Super Kings will have the advantage of familiarity with the conditions but the unbeaten Kolkata Knight Riders would still be a tough nut to crack when they clash in the Champions League T20 final at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Saturday.

Both teams had met in the final of the 2012 Indian Premier League, when Kolkata defeated Chennai by five wickets.
In this year's Indian Premier League both were at par, winning a game apiece against each other. However, unlike the Knight Riders, CSK have played most of their group matches here and will definitely have an edge as far as familiarity factor is concerned.
As the final is being played between two IPL rivals, the Karnataka State Cricket Association is expecting a full house after conducting neutral matches, which failed to attract crowd.
Looking at the stats, Kolkata start favourites as they are on a roll after an unbeaten run in the tournament. They have, in fact, registered 14 wins in a row starting from IPL-7.
Chennai, on the other hand, had to depend on other teams' results to make the last-four stage. Led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the team, however, has the ability to turn it around, a quality which was evident in the semifinal against a power-packed Kings XI Punjab side last night.

Teams (from):
Chennai Super Kings: MS Dhoni (capt), Suresh Raina, Ashish Nehra, Mithun Manhas, R. Ashwin, Ishwar Pandey, Pawan Negi, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohit Sharma, Dwayne Smith, Dwayne Bravo, John Hastings, Brendon McCullum, Samuel Badree, Francois Du Plessis

Kolkata Knight Riders: Gautam Gambhir (capt), Yusuf Pathan, Robin Uthappa, Piyush Chawla, Ranganath Vinay Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Manish Pandey, Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Sunil Narine, Jacques Kallis, Ryan Ten Doeschate, Morne Morkel, Patrick Cummins, Andre Russell.

Suresh Raina's ton seals CSK's second CLT20 title

Being put into bat, KKR skipper Gambhir led from the front as he added 91 for the opening stand with Robin Uthappa (39). Gautam Gambhir who score 80 Runs had seven fours and three sixes. Towards the end, it was young Manish Pandey, who played a cameo scoring 32 off only 19 balls and Yusuf Pathan (20 off 9 balls), who hit a few lusty blows to take IPL champions to the 180-run mark

For CSK Pawan Negi did trouble the batsmen as he got the wickets of Uthappa and Jacques Kallis in his first spell and then got rid of Pandey, Ryan ten Doeschate (0) and Kuldeep Yadav (0) in a space of five deliveries in the penultimate over.

Suresh Raina's unbeaten 109 off 62 balls( with 4x6 and 6x8) powered Chennai Super Kings to their second Champions League T20 (CLT20) on Saturday as they thumped the Indian Premier League champions Kolkata Knight Riders by eight wickets in the final at Bangalore

Suresh Raina is now the only player to score a century in T20 Internationals, IPL and CLT20 tournaments

Chasing down a competitive total of 181, CSK lost the wicket of Dwayne Smith in the first over thanks to a great yorker by Pat Cummins. However Raina came out to take the control of the proceedings

Suresh Raina along with Brendon McCullum added 118 runs in only 12.2 overs. McCullum, who scored 39 off 30 balls perished trying to hit Yusf Pathan out of the park. With 58 needed off 5.2 overs, MS Dhoni walked in the middle and he along with Raina made sure that their were no nervy moments at the end.

M S Dhoni finished the match with a flourish as he hit successive sixes off Pathan as CSK won with nine balls to spare. Dhoni remained not out on 23 off 14 balls.
