Roger Federer(Swiss) was looking for his 12th win in a row but Novak Djokovic outlasted his Swiss opponent 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) in two hours and 12 minutes to win his first title of the year.

The victory earns revenge for Djokovic after his three-set loss to Federer in the Dubai semi-finals two weeks ago and is a huge boost at a time when his confidence looked to be lacking after his quarter-final defeat to Stanislas Wawrinka at the Australian Open in January 2014
