Misao Okawa of Japan,World's Oldest Woman Turns 116 on Wednesday March 05,2014



Misao Okawa,the world's oldest woman was celebrating her 116th birthday on Wednesday in a Japanese nursing home with a cake and candles.




Misao Okawa, a descendant of kimono merchants in the city of Osaka, western Japan, received a visit from town mayor Takehiro Ogura earlier this week ahead of her birthday


Misao Okawa, says the key to a long life is eating sushi and getting at least eight hours sleep a night

Misao Okawa has been the world’s oldest person since the death of 116-year-old Jireomon Kimura in June 2013 


Misao Okawa was born on March 5, 1898 and married in 1919, having three children, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren

Misao Okawa's husband, Yukio Okawa, died in June 1931 – 83 years ago
