Mamata Banerjee Says '' Can support Jayalalithaa as PM, but not Narendra Modi'' Thurday March 06,2014

Trinamool Congress(TMC)chief Mamata Banerjee on Thurday March 06,2014 indicated that she is open to working with AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa or BSP leader Mayawati in a post poll scenario, but dismissed any possibility of supporting a Narendra Modi-led government.

"I have no problem. I don't bother (about) the chair, I care for the people," Ms Banerjee told a TV channel when asked whether she would give support to Jayalalithaa if the latter wanted to be prime minister.

Asked whether she, Jayalalithaa and Mayawati, could work together given their strong personalities and temperaments, the West Bengal chief minister said, "You will appreciate that under Vajpayee's leadership we worked together. So who says we cannot work together? We may work together. Strong personalities can work strongly for the country."

However,Mamata Banerjee evaded giving a direct reply to a question on her prime ministerial ambition, saying, "I know my limitations. After the results are out, people will decide."
