 The Election Commission of India(ECI)have announced on Wednesday March 05,2014 a 9-phase polling for the 16th Lok Sabha Election scheduled to be held between April 07 -May 12,2014

BJP is confident of winning all the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state. As per the 2013 Assembly Polls result in the state held on Dec 01,2013, BJP got a strong hold in 24 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats as it had won 163 Assembly seats

National Spokesman Sudhanshu Trivedi released a video advertisement labelled "Vote 4 India" carrying picture of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

Indian National Congress(INC)has announced 8 candidates

• Kota - Ijey Singh sitting MP
• Chittorgarh - Dr Girija Vyas  sitting MP
• Udaipur - Raghuveer Meena sitting MP
• Jhunjhunu -Raj Bala
• Bikaner -Shankar Punnu
• Barmer - Harish Choudhary
• Sikar - PS Jat 

 About 4.26 crore voters, including 2.01 crore women, would exercise their franchise at 47,948 polling booths 

320 candidates, including 27 women, are left in the fray for the two-phased Lok Sabha polls in Rajasthan, scheduled to go on April 17 and April 24, 2014 for 20 and 5 constituencies respectively.

Out of 17 women contestants, Congress has fielded six women, including three sitting MPs, and BJP just one candidate in the poll battle, according to a final data from the Chief Election Office.

In the last Lok Sabha (2009) polls there were 346 contestants with 31 women for the 25 Lok Sabha seats, which declined this year to 320.

Nasrudeen of Socialist Party is the oldest candidate at 82 years on Alwar seat, while Farooq is the youngest candidate of BSP on Jaipur seat at the age of 25 years.

BJP’s Sukhbir Singh Jaunpuria on Tonk—Sawaimadhopur seat was the richest candidate with Rs. 71.41 crore of total assets, while Congress’ Jyoti Mirdha on Nagaur seat with a total assets of Rs. 58.26 crore

There would be a direct contest between candidates of Congress and BJP on 15 seats; Jaipur, Ajmer, Banswara, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Chittorgarh, Jhalawar, Jodhpur, Pali, Rajsamand, Udaipur, Kota, Karauli—Dholpur, Alwar and Bharatpur.

A triangular contest can be seen on Barmer, Dasua, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Ganganangar, Tonk—Sawaimadhopur, Jalore, Nagaur, Sikar and Jaipur—rural in which the Congress and the BJP candidate would be facing tough time either with rebel, BSP, Rajasthan Loktantrik Party (a joint front of five national parties), National Unionist Zamindara Party, AAP, or Independents.

There are 4.26 crore eligible voters including 2.01 crore women. The voting will take place across 47,948 polling booths to decide the fate of 320 candidates including 27 women.

All pre-poll surveys are predicting a clean sweep for the ruling BJP and a total decimation of the Congress which was in power till December 2013.

 Analysts are predicting a reverse of 2009 Lok Sabha election results. In 2009, the Congress won 20 Lok Sabha seats and the BJP won just 4 seats

Rajasthan State Congress president Sachin Pilot is defending his Ajmer seat and is contesting against Vasundhara Raje's cabinet minister Sanwar Lal Jat.
Traditionally Ajmer has been the stronghold of the Congress party which has won 8 out of the total 14 contests here, but lately the voters have swung towards the BJP which won 5 out of the last 7 elections 
Sachin Pilot broke that trend in 2009 by winning Ajmer after his family stronghold of Dausa became a reserved seat during delimitation. But in the December 2013 polls all of 8 Ajmer's assembly seats have gone to the BJP.

India's second largest Lok Sabha seat by size Barmer, is a battle of prestige with former BJP leader Jaswant Singh contesting as an independent against BJP's Col Sonaram Choudhary fielded just three days after joining the BJP from Congress. The Congress candidate is sitting MP Harish Choudhary.
