Pakistan beats Sri Lanka by 5 wickets in the 3rd and final Test at Sharjah to level the 3-match series 1-1.

 
Set a daunting 302 on the final day, Pakistan romped home in 57.3 overs thanks to Azhar Ali's 103 and Misbah-ul Haq's unbeaten 68

Sri Lanka began the final day on 133-5 but were bowled out for 214, losing their last five wickets for 25 runs.Pakistan had 59 overs to reach the target

The win was secured with 9 balls to spare in 57.3 Overs

Highlights of the Match

1)Pakistan's 302 for 5 (57.3 overs) is their second total of 300 or more in a winning cause in the fourth innings of a Test match, next only to the 315 for 9 vs Australia at Karachi in September 1994.

2)Pakistan chased the total at 5.25 runs per over - the quickest in Test history in the fourth innings (minimum 300). obliterating the 5.19 recorded by the West Indies, during their total of 344 for one off 66.1 overs vs England at Lord's in June 1984.

3)Azhar Ali is the first Pakistani batsman to make a hundred(103 Runs) in the fourth innings of a Test in a winning cause vs Sri Lanka(Inzamam-ul-Haq was the last Pakistani batsman before Azhar to post a hundred in a winning cause in the fourth innings of a Test match - 138 not out vs Bangladesh at Multan in September 2003)

4)Azhar Ali and Misbah-ul-Haq were involved in a fifth-wicket stand of 109 off 119 balls at a run-rate of 5.49 - their second highest run-rate (minimum 100-run partnership) in a winning cause in Tests - the highest being 5.65 (180 for the third wicket off 191 balls) between Inzamam-ul-Haq and Taufeeq Umar vs
