40th annual People's Choice Awards Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014

 The People's Choice Awards will celebrate 40 years of fan-voted entertainment during the live presentation of the 40th Annual People's Choice Awards, Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at the Nokia Theatre, broadcast on the CBS Television Network.

Hosted by Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs from CBS' 2 Broke Girls, and Executive Produced by Mark Burnett, the People's Choice Awards continues to be the only major awards show that empowers fans to choose their favorites across categories of movies, music and TV.

Sandra Bullock was named favorite movie, comedic and dramatic actress, and she shared the favorite movie duo award with "Gravity" co-star George Clooney.

  Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder, the stars of The Vampire Diaries, earned the award for best on-screen chemistry at the People's Choice Awards

Iron Man 3 scored three awards including favorite movie, action movie and the film's star, Robert Downey Jr, channeling Iron Man in his acceptance speech, received the favorite action movie star honor.

Fans deemed DeGeneres their favorite daytime TV host, making her the woman with the most People's Choice honors -- a total of 14 trophies.

After debuting her talk show The Queen Latifah Show in 2013, fans crowned Queen Latifah their favorite new talk show host.

Stephen Colbert won the favorite late night talk show host award

 "The Heat" was chosen as favorite comedic movie.

"The Big Bang Theory" was named favorite network TV comedy

Kaley Cuoco won for favorite comedic TV actress.

Katy Perry, who was not at the show, scored the win for favorite video for the third year in a row, following up last year's award for Part of Me and 2012's honor for Last Friday Night with her hit Roar this year.

Britney Spears picked up the favorite pop artist honor

 Jennifer Hudson was the show's second humanitarian award recipient for her work with children via her Julian D. King Gift Foundation(Sandra Bullock gained the show's first humanitarian award in 2013 for her efforts in storm-ravaged New Orleans)
