The
Election Commission of India(ECI)announced on Friday Oct 5,2013 that
the polls to the Assemblies in the National Capital Territory of Delhi
and the States of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Mizoram
will be held between November 11 and December 4,2013 and Counting of
votes will be taken up on December 8,2013
Chief Election Commissioner V.S. Sampath told journalists here that as per the Supreme Court direction, a ‘None of the Above’ button (the option of rejecting all candidates) would be provided in electronic voting machines in the polls

left red-faced due to the thin attendance of supporters at the Ambedkar
Nagar rally of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, senior party
leaders said on Monday that it was “due to miscalculation on the part of
party strategists in organising the rally, just a day after the last
date of filing nominations for the Assembly polls”.
“The
turnout was not as bad as projected by the media. But, we accept that
there was a miscalculation in deciding the date for the rally. Since
Saturday was the last date of filing nominations, many party workers
could not get involved in the preparation for the rally,” said a senior
