Volunteers cook shashlyk, or a skewer of meat, measuring 150.6 meters in length in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev to set a new world record. Officials of the Ukrainian National Register of Records fixed the new record for the longest shashlyk, a popular food item throughout the former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, India, Iran, Mongolia, Morocco, Pakistan and Israel among other places.
