Greenland "Land of the Kalaallit'' (indigenous people of Greenland)is an autonomous Country within the Kingdom of Denmark located between the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans,East of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago  in North America.
Greenland is, by area, the Worlds Largest Island and with a population of 56000 ( 2011 Estimate) is the least densely Populated Dependency or Country in the World.

History
Greenland is a self-governing overseas administrative division of Denmark since 1979.
Politics and Government
Greenland is a Parliamentary Representative Democratic Danish Dependency where the Prime Minister is the Head of Govt and of a Multi-Party System and is usually the leader of the majority party in the Greenland Parliament, also known as the Landstin in Danish.
Executive Power is exercised by the government.Legislative Power is vested in both the Govt. and the Parliament of Greenland(known as Inatsisartut).
The Monarch of Denmark is also head of State of Greenland represented by a High Commissioner appointed Queen Margarethe II of Denmark.

Greenland has a Unicameral Parliament or Landsting which has 31 members elected by popular vote on the basis of proportional representation to serve four-year terms.

2013 Greenland Parliament Election -Tuesday March 12,2013 

Pursuant to Section 6(3) of the Greenland Parliament Act on elections to the Greenland Parliament, the Premier of the Government of Greenland has set the date for the elections to the Greenland Parliament as Tuesday, 12 March 2013, from 9 am to 8 pm.

Greenland,an autonomous country within the Kingdom of Denmark go to the polls in Greenland on Tuesday, in an election dominated by the question of how the territory should exploit its mineral riches.

Iron, uranium and rare earths lie underground, but opinions differ over how to extract them.

The latest poll predicts a tight race between the governing left-leaning Inuit Ataqatigiit party (IA) and the opposition Siumut party.They will be fighting for 31 seats in a home rule government.

Nearly 70% of 57,000 inhabitants are eligible to vote in Greenland.There is only one polling station in the capital, Nuuk – a town of 15,000
