The NDA Govt is gearing up to launch 32 educational channels soon,
picking up yet another UPA-era programme which was gathering dust in the
HRD Ministry’s files so far.
The Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry is expected to roll out these free-to-air 24x7 channels by August. The Department of Space has agreed to allot two transponders on a GSAT series satellite for their airing through direct-to-home (DTH) platform.
he 32 channels, finalised by the BJP regime, will broadcast lectures by “outstanding” teachers, both live and recorded, through various centres in select higher educational institutions, including six of the Indian Institutes of Technology.
While the teachers will deliver live lessons with multimedia material on the channels, students can have live interaction with the teachers.
