Cracking the whip on the conflict of interest issue, the Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) on Monday Nov 09,2015 sacked Roger Binny from his position as national selector while Team India Director Ravi Shastri was also ousted from the IPL Governing Council.

Roger Binny, the 1983 World Cup-winning team member, will be replaced by former India wicketkeeper MSK Prasad
Roger Binny’s removal is BCCI’s latest step in its fight against conflict of interest among the board members, as the former India cricketer’s son, Stuart, is playing for the national team.

BCCI's no-nonsense president, Shashank Manohar, has come out with a 29-point agenda, which aims at removing conflict of interest at all levels within the BCCI. On those lines, cricketers on the payroll of the BCCI or holding contracts with BCCI shall not be on any BCCI committees, including the IPL governing council.
This directly applies to Ravi Shastri who is on the payrolls of the BCCI since he is the Team Director. So he has also be removed from the IPL Governing Council.
