2015 Krishna Jayanthi Celbrations Saturday September 05,2015

Krishna Janmashtmi celebrates the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, the eight avtaar of Lord Vishnu. The festival is celebrated on the eight day of the Krishna Paksha of the month Shravan (August - September) in Hindu calendar.

Devotees celebrate this festival by fasting and staying up until midnight, when Krishna is believed to have been born. While Dahi Handi celebrates the joyful and mischiveous nature of Krishna, Raas Lila comemmorates the flirtatious dimension of his character from his youthful days.

Srimad Bhagavad Gita, a narrative form of dialogues between Arjuna, a Pandava prince and Krishna, his mentor and charioteer written in Sanskrit enlightens people about the concept of Dharma, Bhakti, Karma and Yogic ideals.
