Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in her Independence Day address after unfurling the National Flag from
the ramparts of Fort St. George in Chennai, she said in the last four
years, the State has witnessed growth in all sectors and
said the State will attract investments worth Rs. 1 lakh crore from the
Global Investors Meet to be held in September 2015
Listing out the various achievements of her government, the Chief Minister said that in the education sector, in the last four years, a total of 1,319 schools have been upgraded, 192 primary schools opened, 72,843 teachers appointed and 53 colleges including four government engineering colleges have been opened
