In a move that took the AIADMK ranks by surprise, Transport Minister V.
Senthil Balaji, was on Monday dropped from the Cabinet and was relieved
of the party's Karur District Secretary post.
A communication from the Raj Bhavan said Governor K. Rosaiah has
accepted the recommendation made by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to drop
Mr. Balaji from the Cabinet.
A release from the AIADMK said he was being relieved from the Karur
district secretary post. Minister of Industries P. Thangamani will hold
the Transport portfolio.
