S. Davidson Devasirvatham, a 1995 batch IPS officer,
has been posted as the new chief of State intelligence. He will replace
Inspector-General of Police P. Kannappan, who retires from service on
July 31,2015
Mr. Davidson is currently the
Inspector-General of Police (Administration). He earlier served as the
IGP (West Zone) and was also heading the 'Q' Branch CID that monitors
the activities of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and Maoists in
