Bangalore-Ernakulam Intercity Express derails Friday Feb 13,2015

 

Two passengers died and over a dozen were injured after nine bogies of the Bangalore-Ernakulam Intercity Express derailed this morning near the border between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The accident took place around 7.45 am near Hosur in Tamil Nadu. The train had started at 6 am.

The accident occurred after the train hit a boulder that had fallen on the track, tweeted Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.

Ambulances from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have been rushed to the spot and officials are coordinating rescue operations
