New Capital - Andhra Pradesh Bats for Vijayawada-Guntur

The Andhra Pradesh government has pitched for locating the new capital between Vijayawada and Guntur.

The AP Govt’s viewpoint was conveyed on Tuesday July 22,2014 to K. Sivaramakrishnan, who is heading the committee constituted by the Union Government to identify a suitable place for the new capital. 

Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana along with State Government’s Special Representative in Delhi, K. Ram Mohan Rao held discussions on the issues relating to the new capital with Mr. Sivaramakrishnan. 

Later talking to reporters in Delhi, the Minister said while the committee was considering various options, the State government’s preference for locating the capital between Vijayawada and Guntur was communicated
