Narendra Modi to be sworn in as the Prime Minister on May 26,2014


Narendra Modi met President Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan today Tuesday May 20,2014 to stake claim to form government.


Narendra Modi was appointed the 14th Prime Minister of India by President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday, soon after a 15-member delegation of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) submitted a letter stating that the senior BJP leader had been elected the leader of the winning coalition. 

Modi's appointment marks the beginning of the first non-Congress majority government at the Centre.

He will be sworn in as India's 14th Prime Minister at 6 pm on May 26, BJP president Rajnath Singh has announced.


At the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President and Narendra Modi exchanged bouquets.

National Democratic Alliance leader Narendra Modi will be sworn in as the next Prime Minister of India on Monday, May 26, along with his Cabinet. The swearing in ceremony will take place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Narendra Modi will be the 14th person to be the Prime Minister of India.
