Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR)booked a berth in the IPL play-offs defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB)by 30 Runs at the Eden Gardens Kolkata on Thursday May 22,2014

RCB winning the toss elected to field and KKR were reduced to 56/3 in the 7th over.But continuing his dream run,Robin Uthappa anchored the KKR innings with an unbeaten 83 from 51 balls(4x10 and 6x1)and put on 121 from 70 balls with Shakib Al Hasan (60 from 38 balls) to help KKR post a towering 195/4. 

This was Robin Uthappa's 5th half-century this season and, with a tally of 572 runs, the opener usurped the Orange Cap from Punjab's Glenn Maxwell (533).

Defending the massive total, off-spinner Sunil Narine  was the wrecker-in-chief grabbing 4/20(4 Overs)to hand KKR a 6th successive win, a milestone they had only posted in their title-winning 2012 season. 

Earlier Umesh Yadav gave KKR the big breakthrough by getting Chris Gayle (6) out to a dubious lbw decision, but Yogesh Takawale and Virat Kohli kept RCB in the hunt in a must-win match with an 85-run partnership. However, Sunil Narine struck twice in his third over, scalping both

With these 4 wickets, Narine took the Purple Cap from SunRisers Hyderabad's Bhuvneshwar Kumar. 
Both have scalped 20 wickets but Sunil Narine has a better average and economy rate
