Arunachal Pradesh Assembly was dissolved on Thursday night March 06,2014 by
Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma on the recommendation of the state
cabinet which demanded holding of state elections along with Lok Sabha
polls next month.
The cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Nabam Tuki recommended the dissolution of the Assembly demanding simultaneous state elections along with the Lok Sabha polls.
"The Cabinet favours simultaneous Assembly polls along with Lok Sabha poll on April 09,2014 to minimise election expenditure, which comes roughly around Rs. 70 crore," Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi told
In the 60-member assembly 2009 elections,the party positions are -
Indian National Congress(INC) -42
Nationalist Congress Party (NC) -05
All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) -05
Bharatiya Janata Party -03
People's Party of Arunachal -04

In the 2009 assembly elections of Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu and two Congress members Tsewang Dhondup and Jambey Tashi were declared elected unopposed.
