2014 Lok Sabha Election Mizoram To Have Single Phase Polling On April 09,2014



 The Election Commission of India(ECI)have announced on Wednesday March 05,2014 a 9-phase polling for the 16th Lok Sabha Election scheduled to be held between April 07 -May 12,2014



The Election Commission of India(ECI)have announced on Wed March 05,2014 that Mizoram to have Single Phase Polling on April 09,2014 for the Single Lok Sabha Seat

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced on Tuesday March 18,2014 that M Lalmanzuala, a retired IAS officer, would contest the election for the lone Mizoram Lok Sabha seat to be held on April09,2014

Four candidates are in the fray for elections to Mizoram's lone Lok Sabha seat on April 9 with filing of nominations ending on Saturday March 29,2014, returning officer for the polls and district deputy commissioner Juhi Mukherjee said.

The ruling Congress nominee C L Ruala and Aam Aadmi Party candidate M Lalmanzuala had filed their nominations on Thursday March 20,2014

Two candidates Robert Romawia Royte of opposition alliance United Democratic Front (UDF) and an independent nominee Vanlalngaia filed nominations on Saturday March 22,2014

The UDF constitutes of 8 parties --
  • Mizo National Front (MNF)
  • Mizoram People's Conference (MPC)
  •  Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP)
  •  Maraland Democratic Front (MDF)
  •  the Hmar People's Convention (HPC)
  •  Paite Tribes Council (PTC)
  •  BJP and 
  • NCP.
