Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) General Secretary Vaiko urged his party cadre to gear up for the 2014 Lok Sabha
elections.
Speaking at a State-level party conference
organised in connection with the 105th birth anniversary of former
Chief Minister late C.N. Annadurai here on Sunday night, he said the
MDMK was rejuvenated after witnessing betrayals in the last elections.
But this time, the party would contest the polls irrespective of having
an alliance with any party or not.
“We will not align
with the DMK as its president M. Karunanidhi had betrayed the interests
of Tamil people. And that does not mean that we will align with the
AIADMK either,” he said.
The Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) has
decided to contest the coming Lok Sabha elections with the single agenda
of ousting the “highly corrupt” Congress-led United Progressive
Alliance government at the Centre.
A resolution to
this effect was passed at its State-level conference in Virudhunagar on the occasion of
105th birth anniversary of the former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai
on Sunday Sep 15,2013
