The winner of the national pageant is awarded the title of "Miss America" for one year. The pageant presents itself as a "scholarship pageant", and the primary prizes for the winner and her runners-up are scholarships to the institution of her choice.

Miss America 2014, the 87th Miss America pageant, was held at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City,New Jersey,USA for the first time since 2005 on September 15, 2013

Winner of Miss America 2014
Nina Davuluri, representing New York, is crowned 2014 Miss America by 2013 Miss America Mallory Hagan.
"I'm so proud to be the first Indian Miss America," the 24-year-old aspiring physician said.
It was the second win in a row for Miss New York.
