Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Trust Vote -Wednesday June 19,2013


Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday June 19,2013 moved a trust vote in the state legislature after the BJP-JD(U) split. Nitish is all set to win the trust vote as four Independents and even Congress legislators have indicated that they will vote for Nitish.

Nitish Kumar's own party, the Janata Dal United or JD(U), has 118 legislators and it needs just four more votes to win the vote.

BJP, with 91 MLAs, has walked out of the Assembly boycotting the motion.

Congress MLAs to vote in favour of Nitish government.

RJD's Lalu Yadav has said that his 22 legislators will all be voting against the JD(U)

Nitish Kumar wins trust vote

Nitish Kumar won a trust vote comfortably today, ensuring he will remain chief minister of Bihar.

Mr Kumar landed 126 votes; his party, the Janata Dal United or JD(U),  provided 117 of those.  The Congress and independent legislators accounted for the rest.

24 legislators voted against him

The BJP decided to boycott the vote today, partly to escape  the embarrassing likelihood of some of its members supporting Nitish Kumar
