Putting pressure on the government, anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare began his day-long token fast at around 10:15 at Jantar Mantar to press for a strong Lokpal Bill on Sunday Dec 11,2011.Along with Anna, prominent members of Team Anna like Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Kumar Vishwas also joined the fast. (his 3rd fast on the Lokpal issue for the year2011)
While Anna will fast in Delhi, his supporters will hold simultaneous protests in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Bangalore and seven other cities.
Before beginning his one-day fast at Jantar Mantar,Anna Hazare, accompanied by his team member Kiran Bedi, visited Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
Anna Hazare has invited the leaders of all political parties to participate in an open debate to state their stands on the Lokpal Bill.
