A. R. Murugadoss ஏ. ஆர். முருகதாஸ்(bornApril 27,1978) in Kallakuruchi,Tamilnadu graduated from Bishop Heber College,Trichy.
Film Career
He started his career by working with writer Kalaimani. Later he worked in the Tamil film 'Poochudavaa' acted in a cameo role and as an Assistant Director with S J Suryah for films like - Vaali and Khushi.
A R Murugadoss's 1st film as Director was 'Dheena'(2001) starring Ajithkumar.Suresh Gopi and Laila in the lead roles.The film, which had musical score by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Arvind, was released on January 14, 2001.The was a commercial mass entertainer and was well received both at the box office and critics.
A R Murugadoss's 2nd film as Director was 'Ramana'(2002) starring Vijaykant,Simran in the lead role was critically acclaimed and a blockbuster film.The film was released on Diwali dayNovember 4,2002. A.R Murugadoss won the Tamil Nadu State(film)award for ' Best Dialogue Writer' for this film.
The film was later remade in Telegu as 'Tagore ' with Chiranjeevi and Shriya Saran,Jyothika and Praksahraj in the lead roles and Directed by V V Vinayak and was released on September 23,2003 in 605 theatres and 'Tagore' turned out to be the highest grosser among all the Tollywood Filmsat that time and ran 100 days in 192 Theatres.and then in Kannada as "Vishnu Sena" with Vishnuvardhan in the lead role.
