2020 US Presidential Election - Democratic Primary Super Tuesday March 03,2020

Voters went to the polls in 14 US states and one territory on Tuesday in the largest day of voting in the US primary season.

More than two-thirds of the delegates needed to secure the Democratic nomination - 1,357 out of the 1,991 needed - at the party's convention in July were up for grabs. California and Texas were the day's biggest prizes, with 415 and 228 delegates, respectively.

Elizabeth Warren's campaign for president fell flat on Super Tuesday as she was unable to win even her home state of Massachusetts.

Elizabeth Warren lost to both Joe Biden - whose South Carolina win Saturday night restored his frontrunner status - and Bernie Sanders, who represents neighboring state Vermont.

Elizabeth Warren was in third place with 22 per cent of the vote with 70 % of the votes counted.

Former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg plans to reassess his campaign Wednesday after a disappointing showing in the first states to be called on Super Tuesday despite his multi-million spending blitz.
Bloomberg got trounced by rival Joe Biden in southern states – and didn't snag a single delegate in Virginia despite spending millions on ads there.

Joe Biden started Super Tuesday off strong, sweeping a swath of the south after first winning Virginia then picking up North Carolina, Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Minnesota, Arkansas and Massachusetts
Joe Biden dramatically won Texas while people were still waiting to vote in the state in a sensational end to a Super Tuesday

Former Vice President Joe Biden received endorsements from Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar, who dropped out of the race just ahead of the big election day. That proved to be a boost for Biden, who surged across the US

Bernie Sanders currently has four states under his belt, including California, Vermont, Utah and Colorado
