2019 Andhra Pradesh Lok Sabha and Assembly Election Results Thursday May 23,2019 - Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy all set to become CM, steers party to landslide victory


The first Assembly elections of the residual Andhra Pradesh five years after the bifurcation was held on April 11,2019

The ruling Telugu Desam Party is pitted against the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSR Congress. Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan is also making his political debut this time

Forty-six-old Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set to become the second Chief Minister of residual Andhra Pradesh after steering his YSRCP in the direction of a landslide victory.

At 2 p.m., YSRCP is leading in 145 of the 175 seats in Andhra Pradesh Assembly leaving just about 25 for TDP and five to other parties including Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena party.

The two national parties, Congress and BJP were nowhere in the scene.

YSRCP maintained the same trend in Lok Sabha elections leading in 24 of the 25 seats. By 1.30 p.m., YSRCP’s vote share stood at 50.3% and TDP’s 38%. The two national parties, Congress and BJP were nowhere in the scene.

The TDP won the 2014 Assembly Elections with a comfortable majority of 102 seats, while YSRCP won 67. In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, united Andhra which had a total of 42 seats, saw TDP win 16, TRS 11, YSRCP 9, BJP 3, and Congress 2.
