All 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala went to polls in the third phase of the general elections on Tuesday April 23,2019
The contest in Kerala is primarily between the CPM-led Left Democratic Front, Congress-led United Democratic Front and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance
The BJP-led NDA posed a formidable challenge to the two traditional fronts (the ruling CPI(M)-led LDF and opposition Congress-headed UDF) in at least three constituencies — Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta and Thrissur
Kannur Lok Sabha constituency recorded the highest voting percentage of 78.16 per cent at 6 pm while Ponnani recorded the lowest 68.31
An estimated 73.6 per cent of the 2.61 crore voters cast their franchise as of 6 pm when the polling time officially ended but this was likely to go up when the final figures are tabulated
In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, the UDF had won 12 seats and LDF 8.
