The senior Republican senator from Arizona and former nominee for president in the 2008 election, John Sidney McCain III, died Sunday Aug 26,2018 after battling brain cancer for more than a year.
John McCain suffered from glioblastoma, a rare and particularly aggressive form of brain cancerIt was announced on Friday that he had decided to stop treatment for his condition, a decision his family said he made “with his usual strength of will”
McCain was surrounded by his wife Cindy and his family in Arizona during his final hours.
